Acquisitions and donations
The BncF regularly acquires antique books or foreign publications, gaining publishing information from sales catalogues or on the basis of recommendations from scholars. It also welcomes proposed donations from private entities of publications that are not already part of its collections.
General indications
All matters regarding acquisitions must be addressed to the Acquisitions Department.
Initial proposals for book donations must be addressed to the Donations Department for approval.
In addition to anything already part of the BncF collections, the library does not customarily accept:
- extracts;
- school books;
- photocopied documentation;
- material in a poor state of conservation.
Times and procedures for the cataloguing of donated material are the same as for acquisitions by legal deposit.
